Introduction

Greetings, readers.  I’d like to introduce myself. I am a homeschooling mother of 3, and I am also attending college online. I have recently gotten myself involved in the anti-common core/data mining movement and my small group in my state has been successful with getting all student data pulled from the database.

But, we’ll talk about that later.  I want the focus of this entry to be an introduction of myself, my family, and our homeschooling.

My daughter, Z, is 10 year olds.  She is a green belt in taekwondo and has won her 4th award from a tournament.  My son E is 7, who just brought home his 2nd award and he is also a green belt.  I am a green stripe and just brought home my very first award, 2nd place in forms.  I also have a 3 year old son, A, who has a severe speech delay.

This will be our first year homeschooling without any online charter so choosing curriculum has been a new experience for us.

We have for Z:
Christian Light Math 4
Christian Light ELA 3 (this is her worst subject)
k12 Literature (given to us free by an angel of mercy)

We have for E:
Christian Light Math 2
Christian Light ELA 1

For A we have:
Christian Light preschool
Horizons preschool for 3’s

For everyone:
Complete book of Maps & Geography (yes this is unfortunately aligned with CCSS, I didn’t realize it until after the purchase)
Real Science 4 kids

Obviously, this list isn’t complete yet. Some subjects I have not yet decided on. I pulled my kids out of school a few weeks ago and have had quite a time trying to get them out of the mindframe of “sit down shut up do your work” as they have been indoctrinated to do in the public school system.

My goal here is to raise independent thinkers and questioning minds.
